Welcome to Gilbert's! We are a family run business established in 2004 located in Helmsdale, in the Highlands of Scotland, offering a range of interests to those living in and visiting the area:

  • a menu of locally sourced fish, game, seafood and meat, along with tasty vegetarian options set in a modern, stylish cafe-restaurant
  • a small farm shop area offering specialist local delicacies and our own Posh Nosh jams, chutneys, lemon and lime curds, ice cream sauces, local cheeses and organic chocolates
  • a fifty foot antique, furniture and bric-a-brac warehouse to browse at your leisure
  • self catering apartment set in the heart of Helmsdale village close to the wonderful Helmsdale harbour and Timespan heritage centre
  • outside catering services ranging from small family occasions to large scale wedding, funeral and corporate events

Highlands Posh Nosh

Highland Posh Nosh and our range of specialist food products celebrate traditional quality. All contain no preservatives, emanate from the nearby Highland area and are packed with first class ingredients making truly superb taste experiences.

The in-house made Posh Nosh range includes caramelised onion chutney with chilli and garlic, apricot and fresh ginger chutney, lemon and coriander pickle, plum and ginger stir-fry sauce, port and red currant sauce, raspberry and strawberry jam and lemon and lime curd to name a few.

The Cocoa Mountain Chocolate Company based in Durness, in the Highlands, has been one of the areas great success stories, offering delicious organic white, milk and dark chocolate products with a range of fillings, plus other special gift items. Many products from this range are available from Gilbert's with Easter and Christmas special lines available in store.

The Caithness Biscuit Company, free range eggs and organic produce during the summer months, speciality local cheeses and an ever changing product range makes Gilbert's well worth a visit.
