International artist Patricia Newman will present an exhibition at Timespan in Helmsdale, starting tomorrow (Saturday).
Where the Bones of the Earth Show Through is an exhibition of works influenced by the decaying effect of the weather, landscape, moods and colours in Caithness and Sutherland, and is based on the human body.
There will be life drawing, glass, unusual jewellery, textiles and stonework making up the exhibitions.
Born in Vilshofen, Bavaria, Ms Niemann came to Scotland in 1996 as an exchange student in the jewellery department at Edinburgh College of Art, having already completed a trade apprenticeship as a goldsmith and achieved a degree as a gemstone and jewellery designer in Germany.

She has been exhibiting internationally since 1993 and has worked as an artist in residence in the Czech Republic, Australia and North America.
She now works as a glass kiln forming and blowing instructor for Northern Creative Glass in Lybster. It is during her time living in the area that she has created the bod
